Rachel L. Barger graduated from The University of Iowa with a B.F.A. in Dance, and a B.B.A in Management and Organizations. She has studied dance at American Dance Festival, Ballet Austin, The Joffrey Workshop Texas, The University of Oklahoma, Movement Intensive in Compositional Improvisation, Regional Dance of America’s Craft of Choreography Conference, and Victoria Ballet Theatre.
Her performance experience includes works choreographed/ restaged by Bill Young, Alan Sener, Toni Pimble, Deanna Carter, Armando Duarte, George de la Pena, Trinette Singleton, and Thom Clower. More recently, Rachel performed at LINKS Hall in Chicago, IL, as well as at Joyce SoHo in NYC, NY with Kayle + Company, where she was also the Company Manager. In addition, Rachel was a member of ARCH Dance Company in NYC, NY, and is currently dancing for Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre in Chicago, IL.
Rachel also has nine years of experience teaching dance in organizations such as Busby Dancenter in Victoria, Texas, and The University of Iowa Youth Ballet/Dance Forum. She was also on the faculty at Joffrey Ballet School, where she taught Adult Modern Dance and LASTICS® Stretch.
